Do you need storage?

People use removals storage facilities for a variety of reasons. It could be that you are downsizing and not ready, or able, to make decisions on all your possessions just yet?

Perhaps you have inherited a relative’s possessions on their passing and need to take a bit of time before deciding how you will use the items.

Maybe you’re in limbo, between selling your old property and moving into a new property? And need temporary storage for your items in the short to medium term.

Whatever the reason for needing storage, our secure storage facilities have robust security measures, such as 24/7 surveillance, gated access, individual unit alarms, and on-site management. We can ensure that your items are stored securely and remain in good condition throughout their time in storage.

You should always ensure your items are insured during storage. Check if your homeowner’s or rental insurance covers items in storage, or purchase insurance from the storage facility if available.

Our storage solutions

We will be able to help with all your storage needs in the short, medium or long-term.

If possible, we always suggest avoiding storing extremely valuable items (e.g. jewellery, important documents etc). You should keep these items with you or in a safe deposit box.

Before suggesting storage solutions, we will discuss the following with you;

Inventory
We always suggest creating a detailed inventory of all items going into storage, including descriptions and photographs. This helps in tracking and insurance claims if needed.

Heavy items on the bottom
Store heavier items at the bottom to prevent them from crushing lighter items, ensure stacks are stable and won’t topple over.

Boxes for moving and storage
Clearly label all boxes with their contents and the room they belong to. Numbering the boxes and matching them to your inventory list can also be helpful. Ensure all boxes are securely sealed to protect against dust and pests.

Accessibility
Place frequently needed items near the front of the unit for easy access. Create a clear pathway to reach all items.

Furniture
Where possible, disassemble large furniture items to save space and reduce the risk of damage. Use furniture pads, blankets, and bubble wrap to protect furniture.

Climate Control
If you have items sensitive to temperature or humidity, you should opt for climate-controlled storage units.

Clean and dry
Ensure all items are clean and completely dry before storage to prevent mould and mildew. Do not use plastic bags for storage, as they can trap moisture and lead to mildew. Use dust sheets to prevent dust.

Aftercare
We always suggest you visit any storage units periodically to check on your items. Look for any signs of damage, pests, or moisture.
You should also keep your inventory updated if you add or remove items from storage.
